Smart Plastic Technologies (SPTek) is a B-Corporation, launched in 2016. SPTek has developed sustainable polymer additives to provide end-of-life solutions for plastics and to support health and wellness for packaging food products, plus a wide array of additional applications. All development has been done in cooperation with leading global laboratories. SPTek manufactures multiple additives including Eclipse™, a polymer technology that causes plastic to fully bioassimilate.

Currently, we offer SPTek OYSTERPLUS™, an additive that reduces the environmental impact of conventional plastic with bio-based carbon sourced from oyster shells. This technology improves the mechanical characteristics of plastic, reduces processing times, temperatures and the dependence on fossil fuel-based resins.
